Nicotinamide riboside kinase 1 is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the NMRK1 gene. As both a nicotinate riboside kinase (EC 2.7.1.173), and a ribosylnicotinamide kinase (EC 2.7.1.22), this enzyme helps perform a step in the process of converting certain forms of niacin/Vitamin B3 into active coenzymes like NAD+. In humans, nicotinamide riboside kinase 1 is expressed in most tissues of the body, compared to the other isozyme, nicotinamide riboside kinase 2, which is predominantly found in muscles.
=== Tigrayan Opposition Parties === Opposition groups inside Tigray strongly rebuked the TPLF's actions. On May 11, Salsay Weyane Tigray (Sawet) issued an official statement rejecting the council's return, characterizing the assembly as a "theatrical performance" disconnected from legality and morality. == Synthesis == The earliest reported synthesis of a rotaxane in 1967 relied on the statistical probability that if two halves of a dumbbell-shaped molecule were reacted in the presence of a macrocycle that some small percentage would connect through the ring. To obtain a reasonable quantity of rotaxane, the macrocycle was attached to a solid-phase support and treated with both halves of the dumbbell 70 times and then severed from the support to give a 6% yield. However, the synthesis of rotaxanes has advanced significantly and efficient yields can be obtained by preorganizing the components utilizing hydrogen bonding, metal coordination, hydrophobic forces, covalent bonds, or coulombic interactions. The Bloomberg tablets are a collection of 405 preserved wooden tablets that were found at the site of the Bloomberg building in the financial district of London. Excavations of the site took place between 2010 and 2013, after which the current Bloomberg building was constructed on the site of the archaeological dig. The tablets are the earliest written documents found in Britain, dating from 50 to 80 AD in the early Roman period. These tablets predate the Vindolanda tablets, which were previously the earliest writing examples found in Britain, dating to 100 AD or later.

=== Undercover Officer Damages === The undercover officer known as "Lizzie James" involved in the attempt to obtain evidence in the original investigation by befriending him took early retirement from the Metropolitan Police force in 1998. With the support of the Police Federation, she sued the Metropolitan Police for damages arising from the investigation claiming that the case ruined her career. In 2001, shortly before it was due to be heard, her case was settled out of court and she received £125,000. Her solicitor said: "The willingness of the Metropolitan Police to pay substantial damages must indicate their recognition that she sustained serious psychiatric injury". The payout was widely criticised by various sources, particularly as Nickell's son had been granted £22,000 (less than a fifth of the amount paid to the undercover detective) from the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority.

== Lower mevalonate pathway == The lower mevalonate pathway which converts (R)-mevalonate into IPP and DMAPP has 3 variants. In eukaryotes, mevalonate is phosphorylated twice in the 5-OH position, then decarboxylated to yield IPP. In some archaea such as Haloferax volcanii, mevalonate is phosphorylated once in the 5-OH position, decarboxylated to yield isopentenyl phosphate (IP), and finally phosphorylated again to yield IPP (Archaeal Mevalonate Pathway I).
